MRHA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) sought a supplier to develop a blend of digital assets to support the work of The Strengthening Collaboration for Operating Pharmacovigilance in Europe (SCOPE) project.
The Safety and Vigilance (SAV) unit promotes the global safety of medical products by coordinating global networks for information sharing via databases, monitoring and alert systems and by supporting countries to develop national capacities for the post marketing surveillance of health products. The Joint Action supports consistent pharmacovigilance operations throughout the EU network, benefiting the safety monitoring of medicines and communication outputs, thereby helping to safeguard public health.

The SCOPE project had gathered information and expertise on how regulators in Member States run their national pharmacovigilance systems. Using this information, Aleido were commissioned to develop a variety of tools and resources to support and embed best practice.

The target audience was graduate and post graduate HCPs working within pharmacovigilance teams. The work was organised into six work packages including:

  • WP1 – Coordination
  • WP2 – Dissemination
  • WP3 – Evaluation
  • WP4 – ADR Collection
  • WP5 – Signal Management
  • WP6 – Risk Communications
  • WP7 – Quality Management Systems
  • WP8 – Livecycle Pharmacovigilance

Packages each comprised an appropriate blend of e-learning, case studies, assessments, interactive pdfs, animations, GIFs, posters etc to meet each work package’s particular focus. The project was spread across 28 member states, requiring inter-agency communications with dozens of Work Package leads and subject matter experts. The e-learning used character audio to represent real life scenarios based around a telephone reporting system for adverse drug reactions.
