The training need
Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) is one of the world’s leading ‘magic circle’ professional services businesses, bringing together the best people across 26 offices to offer legal services globally.
The company identified a need for data privacy e-learning as a result of client and auditor expectations. All HSF lawyers needed to be trained at a baseline level in data privacy. The e-learning was to reach approximately 3,000 lawyers globally in a variety of jurisdictions, from trainees and associates, to partners.
The company commissioned Aleido to design and develop a short interactive course that would ensure learners could collect and maintain data, store it securely and destroy it as necessary in accordance with HSF data privacy policies and protocols.
Our bespoke learning solution
Aleido created a 20-minute e-learning module to train HSF lawyers on relevant data privacy standards and protocols.
After a brief, video-based introduction on the importance and principles of data privacy, the main bespoke e-learning content is structured around six interactive scenarios. Learners follow Charlie, a senior associate, as he onboards a client, agrees terms, and engages in other standard daily business that is relevant to data privacy.
The custom e-learning screens have a sleek aesthetic and engaging style with a professional tone that reflects the serious nature of the subject matter. The delivery of tutorial content is via fast-paced, audio-led sections and dynamic visuals.
In addition to regular quiz questions related to the scenarios, learners complete a short summative assessment to finish the module.
